Random agility ladder drills and boot-camp style conditioning don't build Division-I athletes or dominant varsity players — they build fatigue. Without testing joint mechanics, identifying left-to-right asymmetries, and periodizing power development, generic workouts lead directly to three major roadblocks:
Pushing heavy loads on top of uncorrected movement mechanics. The injury doesn't come from training hard — it comes from training blind.
Lacking an aerobic foundation to recover between explosive efforts. Athletes run out of gas in the 4th quarter because nobody built their engine.
Lifting without intentional tempos, neural force development, or sport-specific transfer. Working hard but not getting faster, stronger, or more explosive.
At Frey Performance Coaching (FPC), we don't guess. We run your athlete through a rigorous, sport-science assessment before they ever touch a weight.
Every elite athlete in our flagship 12-week program starts with our proprietary BMW Assessment — a three-part evaluation that builds every training decision that follows.
Quantitative body composition tracking via InBody scanning to monitor functional lean mass gains, metabolic health, and muscle density. We establish your baseline before we touch a barbell.
A comprehensive joint mobility and structural balance audit. We identify power leaks, hip and shoulder restrictions, and left-to-right asymmetries before loading the body under weight.
Bioenergetic engine testing to measure your athlete's aerobic baseline (Sustain) and glycolytic capacity (Gain/Pain), ensuring top-tier speed and power through the 4th quarter.
We structure your athlete's 12-week transformation using a periodization model engineered to maximize neural adaptations while keeping joints resilient and performance output climbing.
We correct movement asymmetries, build tendon integrity, and increase functional lean tissue using strict eccentric tempos (e.g., 4010). The foundation everything else is built on.
Training volume drops while intensity spikes (85%+ 1RM). We train the nervous system to recruit high-threshold motor units using explosive concentric contractions (e.g., 30X0).
Supercompensation phase. We translate structural balance and raw strength into explosive acceleration, rotational power, and peak work capacity on the field or court.
When accepted into the 12-Week Private Athletic Development, your athlete receives a complete performance ecosystem — not a gym membership.
Establish the baseline and identify the athlete’s highest-priority physical limitation.
Build a 12-week plan around assessment findings, training history, and sport demands.
Four sessions per week recommended, with direct feedback on technique, load, and progression.
Track relevant measures and adjust the plan to the athlete’s response and total sport load.
Compare against the baseline, verify what changed, and decide the next priority.
FPC's methodology and assessment protocols are built from the same systems used at the professional level — applied one athlete at a time, in Coeur d'Alene.
ASSESS. TRAIN. RESULTS. Individual progress guides the next training phase.
Talk with Cody about the athlete’s goals, current training, and what is not improving. If FPC looks like the right fit, the next step is a Private Athletic Assessment.
Use the PushPress form to request a free 45-minute athlete consultation. Cody follows up to schedule it.
If FPC looks like the right fit, Cody explains the assessment, its cost, and the next steps before you book.
Review the assessment findings and the 12-week private coaching recommendation. Training options and cost are discussed before enrollment.

"You helped me gain strength in muscles that really benefited my swimming. Very invested in helping me reach my goals. Helped a lot with my explosiveness and power in my stroke."
Samantha came in without the strength to do a single pull-up and a goal of playing college hockey. One year later — strength, conditioning, and the physical profile a college coach needs to see. She's now on the roster at Hood College.
Two major groin injuries had taken Jack off the ice and put his career in question. We rebuilt his lower-body strength from scratch and progressed him back to full ice contact. Jack is back on the ice.
